Silveira Ranch — Novato, CA

Marin County’s Largest Community-Scale Solar Array

Borrego EPC designed and built a 3.5 MW ground mount solar project developed and owned by Renewable Properties, a developer and investor of small-scale utility and community solar projects in the U.S. The project includes more than 8,600 bifacial solar modules on fixed tilt racking and is expected to generate enough clean electricity to power 800 single-family homes in Marin County annually. This is the equivalent to offsetting more than 4,700 metric tons of carbon emissions annually.

The Silveira Ranch solar project will provide clean energy to Marin Clean Energy (MCE), California’s first Community Choice Aggregation program, through its feed-in-tariff program. The project, the largest community-scale solar array in Marin County, is situated on 11 acres of a larger 41-acre site owned by a cattle ranching family and enables the site to continue its agricultural use with a portion of the site to be grazed by cattle, and it is planned to include a pollinator plant meadow.
